Why Do I Still See Stop Losses When Stealth Mode Is Enabled?

Many of our users ask us why they still see Stop Loss levels on their trades even when Stealth Mode is enabled. To clarify this, we’ve decided to write this post because understanding how this feature works is essential for optimal trading.

How Stealth Mode Works in Our EAs

Most of our expert advisors (EAs) include a Stealth Mode parameter, designed to conceal Stop Loss levels from brokers. This feature helps protect trading accounts from unfair broker practices that might exploit visible Stop Loss levels.

In some of our EAs, Stealth Mode is complemented by an additional parameter called EmergencyStopDist. If this setting is available, it means the EA hides the real Stop Loss by replacing it with a larger, "fake" Stop Loss.

Why Do We Use a Fake Stop Loss?

The reason is simple: unexpected situations can arise.

- The trading terminal might experience technical issues.
- The EA could temporarily stop working due to unforeseen conditions.
- The market may experience extreme volatility, leading to substantial losses.

By implementing a failsafe Stop Loss, our EAs ensure some level of protection against major price swings, preventing catastrophic losses. This is why you may still see a Stop Loss level on your trades, even when Stealth Mode is enabled.

Another Factor: Trailing Stop

Another reason why a Stop Loss might appear is if the EA has an integrated Trailing Stop. Trailing Stops are a crucial feature designed to secure profits as the trade moves in your favor. When activated, the EA will dynamically adjust the Stop Loss level to lock in gains, even if Stealth Mode is turned on.

What If an EA Does Not Set a Stop Loss?

Some of our EAs do not use a fake Stop Loss or Trailing Stop. In this case, when Stealth Mode is enabled, the EA simply won’t set a visible Stop Loss at all.

Final Thoughts

These are the two main reasons why you might still see a Stop Loss on your trades when using Stealth Mode. If you have this feature enabled and notice Stop Loss levels, there is no need to worry—all protective mechanisms built into the EA are functioning as intended to safeguard your account.

We hope this post helps all traders using our powerful and intelligent EAs! Happy trading!
